The Great Penny Drive

The Great Penny Drive is Piggy Bank World's continuing effort to support important causes in our world. Because every cent makes a difference, a portion of our sales is donated to the Great Penny Drive in support of a specified cause at all times.

From January 1st 2007 through December 31st 2007, Piggy Bank World is supporting The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation (FTPF), an international nonprofit organization dedicated to planting edible, fruitful trees and plants to benefit needy populations and heal the earth. FTPF’s unique programs improve the environment, human health, and animal welfare—all at once!

FTPF strategically plants orchards where the harvest will best serve communities for decades—at places such as homeless shelters, drug rehabs, low-income neighborhoods, Native American reservations, schools, animal sanctuaries, and international hunger relief sites. Harvests from each planting are used as a means to help alleviate hunger, improve health, and inspire volunteers to take action for their environment. Recipients share seedlings and fruits with neighbors so the benefits multiply exponentially!

With each purchase, Piggy Bank World is supporting FTPF’s programs to benefit low-income communities on Native American reservations, distribute fruit trees directly to starving families in Northern India, and create outdoor orchard classrooms in public schools across America, to name just a few upcoming projects.
