In 2006, Piggy Bank World supported Trees for the Future, a non-profit
organization whose effort is to reforest degraded lands. These reforestation
projects bring sustainable life back to degarded environments by stabilizing
watersheds, protecting from muslides, and guarding from further desertification. A
portion of sales between January 1st 2006 through December 31st 2006
was donated to this organization.
Trees for the Future trains communities in Latin America, Africa, and south Asia
to implement tree planting projects that bring maximum environmental and economic
benefit to the participating communities; each tree planting project is designed
to support a variety of income generating activities.
Since 1988, Trees for the Future has assisted thousands of communities in planting
over 43 million trees. This year, at a cost of less than ten cents per tree, Piggy Bank
World is supporting a campaign that will plant almost 4,000,000 trees!
Since 2002, our customers have been making a big impact with small change.
